Cellar Door

Opening hours:

The cellar door is open from 10 am – 5 pm on both Saturday & Sunday to purchase wine & for tastings. Lunch is served from 12 pm – 4:00 pm.

Building:

The entrance to the cellar door is located next to the driveway & outside tables. Look out for the large barn door.

The cellar door is a concrete two-story building and features a large sliding reclaimed timber front door. It makes the most of the surrounding views both upstairs and downstairs. When all of the doors are open, sunshine pours into the building bringing the outside indoors. During the cooler months, the warmth of the wood-fired potbellies enhances the relaxed atmosphere in the cellar door.

Sit upstairs to dine against a backdrop of sweeping views across the vineyard and down the southwest valleys, or feel right at home in the downstairs dining area amongst the cosy-styled interior.

Restaurant:

Yes, the cellar door serves lunch from 12 pm – 4:00 pm each Saturday and Sunday.
No, the cellar door is only open for lunch service on the weekends.

Menu:

The menu changes every 4-6 weeks, depending on the season and supply. With a Cicchetti-style menu running through all of the summer.
We use local supplies for each of our menus. Our menus are centered around fresh, high-quality local produce. Some of our amazing suppliers include; Azzurri Foods, Mount Zero Olives, Barfold, Papandrea, and Fiorini.
Each menu will always include vegetarian & vegan options. Most menu items are gluten-free, just always make sure to double-check with our staff and let us know of any allergies. Please specify any allergies to your server upon arrival as we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
The menu is the same for large parties & functions as the cellar door menu. Our chef will take care of how much food to supply based on the number of people in your booking. You will receive entrees, mains & dessert. No additional dishes will be made for large groups.
We do not have a separate menu for children. All food items are on one menu.

Accessibility:

We have disabled parking located in front of the winery near the front of the cellar door. We also have a disabled bathroom available. The cellar door building is multiple stories with stairs. Please specify your requirements when making a booking so we can accommodate your needs.

Traveling:

As you drive up from the road, the driveway splits into two. Stay on the left side and follow the signs to the cellar door.
Yes, as you drive up the driveway towards the cellar door continue past the outside tables to the parking space.

Seating:

Yes, there is indoor seating both on the ground level & upstairs.
Yes, there is outdoor seating near the entrance of the cellar door. Most tables have an umbrella and a heater, blankets are also available for you to use. In the colder months, it is recommended to dress appropriately for sitting outside.

Pets:

Pets are more than welcome to join you at the cellar door. However, they are not allowed inside the building. If you want your furry friend to accompany you, please specify when you make a booking, and we can seat you at an outside table.

Bookings:

Tables inside the cellar door can fill up quickly so it is recommended to make a booking.
To make a booking for the lunch, head over to our Book a lunch page & book via Seven Rooms. Once you book you will receive a confirmation email & text with all the required information.
Yes, walk-ins are welcome at the cellar door. We cannot always guarantee a table will be available for you to sit at, but you can always come in for a wine tasting. To ensure a table we recommended booking in.
For large parties with 14 people and under you can book online through the open table located on the cellar door page. For bookings over 14 people please get in contact with our manager either via mobile or email. To find these details head to our contact us page.

Tastings:

You do not need to book a tasting. However, if you have a large group, we recommend calling ahead and seeing if there is room for you to do a tasting. We are open from 10 am for you to come in and do a tasting & purchase wine.

Vineyard / Winery

Vines:

We do not allow people to walk through the vines as this can cause damage to them.
The Chardonnay, Nebbiolo, Prosecco, and Pinot Noir grapes are all grown on the property. Other varieties are sourced from upper Heathcote.
Mount Towrong Vineyard specialises in unique Italian wine varieties. These are a variety of grape that originated from Italy that we now grow in the Macedon Ranges.

Sustainability:

Our Vineyard is farmed with the use of organic composts with no pesticides or herbicides used. Winter prunings are mulched back into the mid rows. All vines are cane-pruned and grapes are handpicked.

Our wines are made with low intervention and the use of sulfites is kept to a minimum. Our wines are also 100% vegan friendly as they are unfined.
