A vineyard shaped by family, tradition, and the land we call home.
From Italy to the Macedon Ranges
Mount Towrong Vineyard is a small, family-owned winery, 600m above sea level in the heart of the Macedon Ranges (just 1 hour from Melbourne CBD). Established in 1996 by the Cremasco family, our vineyard reflects a deep connection to our Italian roots and the cool-climate region we call home.
The land we farm is Wurundjeri country, and we honour this through our vineyard practices and branding. Our logo is inspired by the surrounding landscape, featuring Geboor (Mount Macedon), Mount Towrong, and Willimigongon Creek.
Each vintage, we continue the work of those who came before us, crafting wines that tell a story of time, place, and the hands that made them.
What started with a few rows of vines and a dream has grown into a working vineyard, cellar door, and enoteca-style dining space. Today, we continue to focus on Italian wine varietals and a relaxed, welcoming experience where wine, food, and good company take centre stage.

OUR VINEYARD & WINEMAKING PHILOSOPHY
Our 6.5-acre vineyard is home to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Prosecco (Glera), and Pinot Bianco—varieties that thrive in the cool climate and volcanic soils of the Macedon Ranges. At 600 metres above sea level, the long, slow growing season allows for bright acidity, depth, and complexity to develop in every grape.
Beyond our estate, we source fruit from select Victorian wine regions that mirror the terroirs of Italy’s most iconic varietals.
Heathcote & Upper Heathcote: Known for its ancient Cambrian soils, this region provides the ideal conditions for Nebbiolo, Negroamaro, Lagrein, and Vermentino, bringing structure, spice, and mineral-driven intensity.
Mildura: A warm, Mediterranean-like climate, perfect for Grillo and Grenache (Cannonau), producing wines with ripe fruit, balanced acidity, and saline complexity.
Sustainability & Minimal Intervention
Sustainability is at the heart of our vineyard practices. We use organic compost, avoid pesticides and herbicides, and prune our vines by hand, ensuring minimal impact on the land.
The result? Low-yield, high-quality fruit that allows us to craft small-batch wines with a true sense of place.
In the cellar, minimal intervention guides every decision. Our wines are unfined, fermented with indigenous yeasts where possible, and handled gently to preserve the natural expression of the fruit. Sulphite use is kept to a minimum, and all wines are 100% vegan friendly.
From the crisp, cool-climate precision of our estate-grown Prosecco and Chardonnay to the bold, sun-kissed richness of Negroamaro and Lagrein, each bottle tells the story of place, heritage, and the pursuit of honest winemaking.

A Cellar Door With Character
Designed by architect Paul Couch and built in 2005, our cellar door is more than just a tasting room—it’s an extension of our home.
From its reclaimed timber doors to its upstairs dining space overlooking the vineyard, every element of the space has been shaped by the people who have worked here over the years.
Originally, a pool table sat in the upstairs dining room, a nod to the casual, welcoming atmosphere we wanted to create. As demand grew, the space evolved into a communal dining area where guests could enjoy rustic, Italian-inspired food alongside our wines.
Today, the Enoteca menu changes with the seasons, featuring simple but thoughtful dishes that reflect our Italian heritage and the best local produce available.
